Your expectations 4.26.2009
You were reading the newspaper, when you began marveling at this girl who scored a perfect score on her SAT. As always, you can never miss an opportunity to put me down so you began your rant on how I spend 10 hours on the computer and 1 hour on my studies (To the reader: this is obviously false and if for one second you believed it, you should pour salt in your eyes an run into the middle of a street). I'm not jealous. I respect the girl because she's smart and because she has lived her life productively up to this day. I'm just annoyed at the fact that you expect me to succeed while you disapprove of everything I do, every word I say, and every thought I may wonder about. You explain to me how this girl is so diligent because she had a job since she was in 8th grade. You struggle so hard to prove something, but fail to prove anything because the last time I suggested to get a job, the only reaction you gave me was that I'm a student and the only thing proper for me to do was study. I don't think I'll ever be able to satisfy you. When I stay in, you say I study too much and that I should go out to get some fresh air. But, when I go out, you claim I don't study enough. LALALA, sometimes I hate you.

Here I am in front of my computer, eating rice noodles, after an exhausting day at midwood field. I felt a sudden urge to post and I'll do just that. While it was chilly and windy just several days ago, today made me feel like I was in a microwave. The sun beat down on me for a whole 7 hours, making me feel as if my arms were burning off. I finally put on my sweater, which protected my arms, but it suffocated the rest of my body. Finally, I quit. Right in the middle of the game. Sigh, I'm such a pansy.

About the layout... I came up with an idea. Instead of orange, I chose green for the theme. Don't you love green?! Expect three columns and a side navi. Suggested viewing resolution is 1280x1024 but I'll make it automatically overflow (or scroll) for those who have smaller screens.

Last but not least, Happy Birthday Saif! Feliz Cumpleanos! Kekeke.

The title pretty much explains the whole purpose of the post. I'm sorry for not posting for so long... Truth is, I was pretty caught up with Ragnarok Online over the vacation. ASSASSIN CROSS BABY! Aside from that, I spent a few days in Flushing and went out during the remainder of the time. The layout I promised... It's coming. Just bear with me for the moment because I have yet decided on it's appearance. IDEAS, GUYS! IDEAS!

Okay, so what's been up lately? For me, it's the same old shit. I still haven't learned to manage my time. My averages in chem and global dropped to 85. With 3 regents ahead of me and the SAT pointed at my throat, I'm losing control. Also, I've neglected my new policies of practicing the clarinet and A-Chinese-Character-a-day. Meh... give me something to look forward to.

On the bright side, its spring and the weather is gradually becoming nicer. It's hard to believe sophomore year is almost over and soon, I (or we) will become juniors! And yet, I've nothing planned for the future. Well, there's three jobs I'm considering...

1- Optometry - With the latest technology, humans are still trying to create cameras or displays with increasingly high resolutions. It makes me wonder how intricate our eyes are. Our eyes are a gift we're born with, blessing us the ability to see and admire.

2- Commercial Pilot - Personally, I think clouds are probably one of the prettiest and most overlooked things in nature. How awesome would it be to cruise in the sky, watch the sunset, the sunrise, and travel back and forth under the twilight.

3- Architect/Engineer - Although the last of my three choices, I still think being an architect will be an interesting and challenging career. Ideas once considered to be impossible were achieved through advances in engineering. Perhaps you've heard about the ski resort built in the desert region of Dubai or maybe the Lilypad City innovated by Callebaut as a resolution to the increase of sea level caused global warming. Both would be impossible to construct without dedication and a bit of imagination from architects and engineers.

Lastly, there's one inspiring movie that I watched recently and would like to share with you. It's called Okuribito ( Departures) and is about a cellist who loses his job after the orchestra disbands. He returns to his hometown with his wife and incidentally becomes an encoffiner. It's really touching and I really encourage anyone to watch it when they have time.

About the layout, I hope I'll be done by the end of this week. See ya!
